Homemade Protein Hair Mask

IMG_0961[1]

I just returned from the Dominican Republic and had a ball!!!  We spent good times by the pool, on the beach, walking along the beach and playing in the water.  I totally enjoyed myself.  Unfortunately, with all of the sun time I had my skin reacted a bit and I returned home with parched, dry hair.  I used Silicon Mix almost daily while there but that just wasn’t enough.

I immediately looked online for an all natural deep treatment that can help to return my hair to its normal level of moisture and strength.  I found this recipe and have it in my hair now.  I would like to share this with all of you because as you workout outside, in the sun, or find yourself lounging poolside, your tresses may be taking a beating and need to be restored like mine.

ENJOY and if you try this recipe tell me what you think of it.

Ingredients:

3 TB mayonnaise

2 TB raw honey

2TB olive oil

1 egg

Instructions:  Add all ingredients to a bowl and stir until well blended.  Next apply to damp hair.  I like to separate mine in quarters and work each section at a time for ease of detangling and to ensure all of my hair is saturated with the mixture.  Let sit for about 1 hour covered with a plastic cap without heat.  If you choose to use heat then sit under the dryer for 15 minutes so everything can penetrate.  Next wash hair and condition as usual.  Voila – smooth, moist and strengthened hair.

April 27, 2013 Sweet Pear Smoothie by Simple Green Smoothies

I happened to wander onto the Simple Green Smoothies Facebook page and found this recipe which I had to try since I had most of the ingredients except banana.  I needed to run out to get change so I purchased 3 bananas in the process and came home to try this.  Can I say this was one of the best smoothies I have tasted?  The dash of cinnamon really set it off!!!!!

3. 2 pears (recipe calls for 4 pears)

4.  Dash of korinje cinnamon
